Jess Gordon

I have been running with Striders since 2013 and I completed my leadership training in Autumn 2014. I ran my first half marathon 10 years ago and have not looked back since. Unfortunately, in 2015 I experienced quite a severe injury that left me off the road for almost a year.

Now that I am back to full fitness I mainly focus on 10k and half marathon distances, however, you will often find me at Park Run on a Saturday even though I hate 5K!!!

I was honoured to be appointed a committee member in January 2018 and I work on the technical side of Striders including the maintenance of the website and our social media platforms.
NSRC and its members have provided me with a wealth of support & advise which has given me the motivation and the opportunity to pursue my love of running.

In the summer of 2018 NSRC appointed 5 Mental Health Champions including myself as part of the #runandtalk initiative a collaborative venture with England Athletics and Mind Charity. As a Mental Health Champion I advocate running and exercise as a platform to improve mental health, providing support & guidance, raising awareness and removing stigma.
