HPRC Grand Prix


Three runners count per team. Only those entering all four races are eligible for the team prizes.

For club runners, enter as normal ensuring that you enter all four races to be eligible for the team prizes.

For non-club runners, enter a team name in the “Club/Team Name” section, making sure that all team members enter the same team name.
More than three people can enter under the same team name and the top three members who complete all four races will count towards the prizes.

Tuesday 26th June = Rushcliffe Country Park 4 miles

Thursday 28th June = National Water Sports Centre 10K*

Tuesday 3rd July = Victoria Embankment 5K*

Thursday 5th July = Colwick Racecourse 5 miles


4 Striders competed in the first race of the Holme Pierrepont Running Club (HPRC) Grand Prix 4 race series at Rushcliffe Country Park. Jan Bailey finished 5th, covering the 4 miles in 23:05, followed by new member David Cross 28:13, Philippa Clarke 32:59 and Rob Wilkinson 38:45.

On to Thursday and to Holme Pierrepont for the County Championships 10K, which also constituted the second race of the HPRC Grand Prix. There was a large field of 408, and as you may expect the event attracted many of the county’s top runners. Jan Bailey was 8th overall in a time of 36:29, Lewis Hopkinson 14th in 37:23, Peter Davis 45:12, David Cross 46:16, Philippa Clarke 52:09, Rob Wilkinson 1:00:13. Peter Davis won Gold in the V65 category and Jan Bailey Bronze in the V35 age group.

Event 3 took place on Tuesday, 5K by the Trent on the Embankment at Nottingham. Jan was 6th overall in 16:50!! Followed by David 20:46, Philippa 24:51, Rob 28:45.

The series concluded on Thursday with a 4 mile race at Rushcliffe. Jan was 5th in 23:05, with David 28:13, Philippa 32:59 and Rob 38:45.

Jan finished 3rd overall in the series which attracted large fields, adding to his County bronze from last week. In the team competition, the men placed 11th.
