Liverpool, Chase the Royal Rainbow, Outlaw Half & Tough Mudder

There’s no shortage of news this week, starting in Liverpool where a sizeable group were participating in a series of events as part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll weekend, which began on Saturday with a 5K race. Noel Henderson was first over the line in 24:09, followed by Jon Rawson 24:26, Andy Scott 25:58, Becky Clift 25:59, Hannah Jackson 26:29, Matt Patterson 27:37, Donna Wright 27:38, Stacey Atkins 29:23, Jacqui Jackson 30:56, Nicole Henderson 31:18, Andrew Chamberlain 31:18, Kath Scott 31:19, Donna Beveridge 31:33, Lynne Boby 31:34, Leisa Pickles 31:35, Nick Harrison 33:45, Anthea Moisey 33:53. Closer to home Jane Freshwater, Alison Carmen and Sue Wilkinson were at Southwell Racecourse braving the paint throwers in the Chase the Royal Rainbow 5K event, whilst over at Belvoir Castle, Tom Young and Jess Gordon were taking part in the Tough Mudder.

Turning our attention to Sunday, we return to Liverpool to focus in on the Half Marathon and Marathon events and once again our distance runners were faced with hot and sunny race conditions. Simon Price was the first Strider to cover the 26.2 mile course, finishing in a time of 4:19:24 and Nige Driscoll wasn’t far behind completing his first marathon in a time of 4:21:42 PB. Next came Jon Rawson 4:31:54, then Cate Driscoll, also in her first marathon 4:46:35 PB, Andy Scott 4:52:25 and Stacey Atkins 5:13:32. 15 Striders lined up for the Half Marathon, Mark Jackson finished in 1:27:17, John Palmer 1:48:39, Richard Webster 1:53:34, Noel Henderson 2:02:50, Becky Clift 2:03:54 new PB by over 3 minutes, Jacqui Jackson 2:06:08, Matt Patterson 2:14:47, Donna Wright 2:14:48, Kath Scott 2:28:15, Lynne Boby 2:28:17, Nicole Henderson 2:32:35, Leisa Pickles 2:33:05, Nick Harrison 2:49:20, Anthea Moisey and Donna Beveridge together in 2:54:22. As if this wasn’t enough, quite a few followed the main races by literally going the extra mile in a further event to complete the Rock ‘n’ Roll weekend. Locally, Matt Silk completed the Outlaw Half Nottingham Triathlon and there was a good turnout for the All Clubs run.
Well done everyone!
